This Gathering may be small, but it turned out to be the perfect size packed with the right amount of influence. I couldn't be prouder of our city.
Born from the Idea that Parents are in need of help and don't know where to turn. In today's world everyone is so wrapped up in survival mode that our youth suffer. After several suicides here in Mountain Home Idaho with Kids under the age of 25 and reports of bullying, the need to Bridge the Gap between City Government and Educational institutions arose. I spoke to Mountain Home's District 193 Superintendent James Gilbert just after the death of yet another child's death by suicide. And just weeks before that was another. Parent's frustration was beyond imagination. Mr. Gilbert opened his door for EVERYONE, and no one came. WHY? I and another concerned parent met with Mr. Gilbert and found that parents simply rarely ever come in over matters like these. Together we searched for answers, and we still are. What was discovered is parents are ashamed, infuriated and grieving with no direction to turn.
With no one to ask the questions:
What did we do get here?
Why did it happen?
Whose fault is this?
What do we do about this?
Please Follow Us on Facebook live will be available for gatherings once we have met the follower's goal of 100 +.
What is apparent, we need to rebuild a sense of community that has no judgement.
Positive encouragement during the hardest times in life. We are the builders of bridges between those we entrust to guide our kids while in school, outside of school with the help of city leadership's influences to create social programs and educational life skills. As parents and neighbors become social like we used to be pre-covid and electronics.
We need hope.
That is what getting together is all about.
Bridging the gap between people
